two days in Marrakech

Marrakech one of the four imperial cities of Morocco, situated in northern side of the high-Atlas mounatins. From this beautiful cities where it’s worth to visit the medina and its important monuments ( Bahia palace, Saadiens tombs, Secret garden, Benyoussef madrassa, Majorelle garden, Musee de marrakech…), we can drive less than two hours to explore the beautifull villages and valleys in the Atlas mountains, or to the west to explore cities by the atlantic coast.

We spent a few days in Marrakech, it was wonderful. We then decided to head towards the Middle Atlas to visit the Ouzoud waterfalls, the road was in good condition and the site is worth the detour. We enjoyed our day trip supervised by our local guide who provided us with an air-conditioned and comfortable tourist transport vehicle.

Today excursion

We explored one of the most beautiful valleys of Atlas-mountains : Ouirgane valley. After a drive for about one hour to kik plateau, where we enjoyed a mint tea with a family in Agurgour village, and a panoramic view over the Takerkoust lac, we continued through a forest of juniper trees to Marigha, by the Ouirgane dam.

We had our lunch in one of the best restaurants in Ouirgane.

Menara Garden in Marrakech established during the reign of Almohads dynasty in 12th century, it's huge irrigation storage supplied with water from the high-Atlas mountains.
